Each year a matsuri, or festival, is held in our town of Higashikurume. Vendors' booths line both sides of the main street with lots of food and merchandise for sale, and there are two days of parades, music, dancing and displays. Matsuri food is interesting, tasty and sometimes beautiful:
Parades include dancers, marching bands and floats carried by large groups of costumed people.
